Airbus Technical Team Arrives in Karachi , Pakistan to assist in investigation of PIA A320 Crash

A technical team of Airbus experts arrives in Karachi on Tuesday 26 May 2020, to assist the Aircraft safety investigation board of Pakistan Civil aviation authority. The team consists of 11-Members with expertise in different trades if Aircraft.

According to the Spokesperson of PIA, he said PIA will also give their full support to the Airbus team for any technical assistance. Meanwhile, after landing at Jinnah International Airport Karachi the team visited, the area in which the aircraft got crashed, the team has also inspected the runway of JIAP  Airport. Furthermore Flight data recorder and black box have also been handed over to the Airbus Team.



Airbus also confirms that they will do an independent investigation for the root cause analysis of the accident. 

Earlier the team left for Pakistan on their own manufactured Aircraft Airbus A330-800 from Toulouse France.

The BlackBox has already been recovered from the crash site.



Earlier PIA Airbus A320 crashed into a densely populated area of the Karachi Model town area. According to the initial reports, there was a fault on Landing gear was reported, some reports said that the accident happens due to fault in the Aircraft engine.     


Extension of Stay

The Airbus team decides to extend their stay in Karachi for further investigation of the accident. Meanwhile, the ATC blames the captain that he ignored the instructions from ATC about landing and height of the Aircraft.

The investigation is still underway both the Airbus and AAIB teams are continuously working on it to find the root cause of the accident.
